for calibration I have used the neg ultramark signal.
and I have seen methods using,
TFA solvent clusters under non-cluster busting source conditions (low temp/gas).
higher (0.1% NH4?) pH myoglobin solutions (infusion only usually)
and ivory dishwashing soap (watch the amount-contamination like ultramark)

for source "tuning" I'd use a "standard" like your analyte.
