I'm sorry if I sound paranoid, but unfortunately there are some people who
have taken advantage of the ABRF mailing list to send spam. I would
greatly appreciate it if there were some way of checking into the
credentials of some of the people who say they want to subscribe.
Since I've been the victim of a particularly vicious spammer, who spammed
me personally (for over a year) when I complained about his spamming the
mailing list, I have, perhaps, become overly cautious.
The message below is from the ombudsman:
One way to prevent this is to monitor every message prior to it's posting
on this forum. There are future plans to restrict the mailing list to
ABRF members only. This will prevent nonmembers from posting
messages and hopefully spam.
