No, not homework. Actually, the preparation is that of a collaborating lab who
thought they had given me the subtilisin based on Western analysis.
Since this is an uncharacterized subtilisin, there was no way to gauge either the
effectiveness of protease inhibitor or deactivating cocktails. Any suggestions
regarding preperative precautions would be welcome!
If we are seeing unreduced antibody, shouldn't I have also seen some hits to the
heavy chain N-terminal? Can the immunologists in our group tell me if the11 kDa kappa
chain is a common component of polyclonals raised in rabbits?
