Dear ABRF Members
The ABRF Amino Acid Analysis Research Group would like to invite you to participate in our study to be presented at the
ABRF 2001.
The project focuses on quantitation and identification of proteins. The participating laboratories will receive
solutions of 4 pure proteins (approx. 2.5 mg/ml in PBS). The concentration of each should be determined by AAA as well
as by a colorimetric assay (BCA, Bradford, or similar). The goal of the study is to examine the use of AAA for
determining of the exact amount of protein in the sample, to identify the protein using compositional data and to
compare these data with the colorimetric assays. We hope to determine if colorimetric assays can be a reliable method of
quantitation.
We encourage you to participate in this study as this will give you the opportunity to evaluate the AAA capabilities of
your laboratory.
