Research Associate
Enabling Science and Technology Biology Department
AstraZeneca R&D Boston, Waltham, Massachusetts

Pimary Function:
Conduct experiments, and generate, process, and interpret analytical
protein chemistry data. Assist with protein structural characterization
in EST Biology projects.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Fractionate protein mixtures from cell and tissue extracts using gel
electrophoresis and HPLC.
- Generate and characterize peptide maps using HPLC and mass
spectrometry.
- Carry out general protein chemistry assays.
- Work as a member of one or more project teams within EST Biology.
- Participate and make presentations in internal and external meetings,
as needed, generate reports, and participate in project team functions,
as required.

Qualification requirements:
B.S. in Chemistry or Biology required. Solid background in General
Chemistry essential. Preference will be given to candidates with
experience in one or more of the following areas: analytical protein
chemistry, protein sequencing, chromatography, mass spectrometry.
Relevant pharmaceutical or biotechnology work experience is desirable.
