Postdoctoral Position: Mass Spectrometry - Position #PB1LS165
The Bioanalytical Group at the Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation seeks a
postdoctoral fellow to conduct fundamental research in the area of 1) MALDI
energetics or 2) capillary scale separations coupled to tandem MS for
peptide/protein sequencing. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in a
related field and posses exceptional knowledge and experience in the area of
1) MALDI ionization energetics and chemistry or 2) capillary separations.
Additional knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas is
highly desirable: optical spectroscopy, molecular modeling, protein
extraction/purification, protein sequencing, capillary chromatography, CE,
CEC, nano-spray ESI, and/or tandem MS of proteins/peptides. <?xml:namespace

Research Assistant - Metabolomics - Position #PB1LS166
The Bioanalytical Group at the Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation seeks a
research assistant to participate in our new functional genomics program
focused on the model legume, Medicago truncatula. Responsibilities will
include high throughput metabolite profiling using HPLC, CE, GC/MS, HPLC/MS
and/or CE/MS. Additional responsibilities will include isolation and
purification of novel and interesting metabolites. The ideal candidate will
have a B.S. or M.S. in a related field and posses exceptional knowledge and
experience in one or more of the following areas: plant metabolite
isolation, plant metabolite purification, HPLC, GC/MS, CE, CE/MS and/or
ESI/APCI mass spectrometry.
The Bioanalytical Group is located within our Plant Biology division whose
mission is to enhance plant quality and productivity through fundamental
research and applied biotechnology. Our group seeks to apply and advance
many of the modern technologies utilized in proteomics, metabolomics, and
mass spectrometry. Our facility has a current inventory consisting of a PE
(PerSeptive) Biosystems DE-STR MALDI-TOF-MS, a Bruker Esquire
ESI/APCI/Nanospray LC/ITMS, Hewlett Packard 1100 HPLC with PDA, BioRad 2D
PAGE systems, Genomics Solutions Proteomic System (ProPic, ProGest, ProMS),
BioRad Fluor-S, ABI Capillary electrophoresis, and a Dionex HPLC.
