Research Associate - Assay Development

Zyomyx, Inc., a biotech company located in Hayward, CA is a leader in the
development of Protein Biochips technologies - high-resolution arrays of
fully functional proteins. We are seeking a Research Associate for our
Assay Development Group.
POSITION STATEMENT: As a member of the Assay Development department, you
will contribute to the application development, testing, and evaluation of
new micro-fabricated technologies efforts of our company. You will perform
quantitative and qualitative experiments supporting Protein Biochip
development efforts. Other duties include sample analysis, reagent
preparation and maintenance.
QUALIFICATIONS: BS/MS in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field
with 2+ years experience (industrial or core facility) in performing
protein-based assays (e.g., ELISA, fluorescence-enzymatic) is required.
Practical knowledge in peptide/protein sample handling (separation and
purification) is also required. Excellent problem solving skills are
essential. Experience in the operation of LC/MS systems is a plus. The
position requires good communication skills for working in a
multidisciplinary team as well as maintaining good laboratory records.
