Our Faculty has just purchased new mass spectrometry instrumentation (Voyager
STR and Q-Star instruments) and is setting up a new mass spectrometry core
facility as part of a major investment into proteomics. Anyone interested

RESEARCH ASSOCIATE/MASS SPECTROMETRY
The University of Calgary is seeking a Scientific Manager/Research
Associate for its newly established Proteomics Research Facility. The
successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing the day to
day
operation of a state of the art, multi-user facility containing
instrumentation for 2-dimensional gel electrophoresis, and MALDI-tof
and LC/MS/MS mass spectrometers. This recruitment is part of a major
expansion of academic programs and research in proteomics,
bioinformatics and functional genomics that is currently underway in
the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Calgary. In addition to
managing the proteomics facility, the successful applicant will be
expected to participate in ongoing research projects in the area of
proteomics. Applicants should hold a PhD in biochemistry, protein
chemistry or analytical chemistry, and have post-doctoral experience
in
analytical protein, and peptide chemistry, and mass spectrometry.
However, highly trained individuals with BSc or MSc degrees and
experience in these areas are also invited to apply. Salary scale will
be commensurate with experience. Applicants should send a current
