PhD student fellowship (3 years) in biological mass spectrometry and
proteomics is available in the Laboratory of Mass Spectrometry in the newly
opened Max-Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and genetics in
Dresden (Germany). The research will be focused on functional
characterization of proteins complexes and protein interaction networks
using MALDI Quadrupole TOF and ESI Quadrupole TOF mass spectrometry. A
successful candidate will work in close contact with researches focused on
cutting edge topics of molecular biology such as cell cycle control,
morphogenesis and intracellular signaling. Individuals with prior
experience in analytical biochemistry, protein chemistry or mass
spectrometry and with a keen interest in interdisciplinary work in
molecular biology are encouraged to apply.

Dresden, a capital of Saxony is a charming city rich in culture and
history. It is world famous for its cultural treasures Semper Opera House,
Zwinger palace, castles of Pilnitz and Meissen and magnificent nature of
"Saxon Switzerland". Dresden is becoming also a center of molecular biology
and biotechnology hosting an innovation program "Biopolis Dresden", which
will provide opportunities to continue the carrier in academia or biotech.

Details on the International PhD program are available at the Institute's
web site http://www.mpi-cbg.de Please note the application deadline
