Prot seq: Glu-C properties

Hello all,

I recall maybe a year ago someone commenting that Glu-C does not work well
in in-gel digests since it is 50kDa whereas proteases like Lys-C are ~25kDa
and can penetrate gel pores more easily. That made sense. But, just
looking now at the product sheet on Glu-C, it is listed as 30kDa, and the
sequence given, ~250aa, is consistent with that or a little less.

The question is, does anyone know if the functional enzyme is a dimer?
That would rationalize all the above.

Thanks,
John
