We just did the same analysis and came to the same conclusion, the
basestation has nice set of features for the money (both purchase cost and
consumables).

There was some discussions on this exact machine on the ABRF list last

(one should note that the cartrographer software WILL now output in ABI
format so CON #1 is no longer a concern)
