Job Description:
As the Director of Biology, you will oversee a group of approximately 20
scientists from disciplines including cell biology, drug transport in vitro,
enzymology, and High throughput screening. You will also interact with
scientists from other disciplines within the company such as IT, Medicinal
Chemistry, Production, and Facilities. You will provide balanced support for
project teams and coordinate bioanalytical assays, suggesting and
implementing changes as necessary to increase efficiency and output. You
will also help to incorporate new automation technologies into the lab (many
of the assays are early ADME assays and are semi-automated). You will
coordinate the integration of new external alliances into the company, and
report to the VP of Discovery Alliances.
Job Requirements:
Candidates will hold a PhD in Chemistry, Biology or any related field, with
at least 5 years of industry experience directing a biology lab. PKDM, HTS
or target-biology specialists are preferred. You must have the ability to
adapt to and expedite change and work in a team environment. You must have
a global outlook for the direction of projects, and be able to delegate
responsibility to achieve the goals of the company. Salary is commensurate
with experience.
