A San Francisco Bay Area Company is Looking for Scientist in Genomics.

The Company:

The Company, Inc. is a rapidly growing, publicly traded company whose share
price has risen over ten-fold (as of July 14, 2000) during the past 12
months. The Company is researching and developing biopharmaceuticals to
treat acute and chronic diseases. It uses its high-throughput proprietary
technology for discovering and developing therapeutic product candidates and
for pharmacogenomic and polymorphism analysis. The Company has several major
collaborations for commercializing its biochip technology product.

Basic Functions and General Scope:
The Scientist will be responsible for expressing a variety of genes
utilizing the latest in mammalian protein expression techniques.

Specific Responsibilities:

ÿ Leading the scientific efforts in the protein expression of various genes
for functional, and pre-clinical analyses.
ÿ Cloning of genes for high levels of protein expression.
ÿ Experience with high throughput cloning and expression desirable.
ÿ Evaluate opportunities to optimize expression processes.
ÿ The evaluation and troubleshooting of complex protocols.
ÿ Design experiments, review, and interpret experimental data.
ÿ Present findings at internally and externally.

Position Requirements:

ÿ A Ph.D. in molecular biology, or biochemistry.
ÿ A strong background in mammalian expressions systems is required.
ÿ Should have 2 to 5 years experience in protein expression systems such as
bacterial, yeast, and/or bacullovirus in an industrial setting.
ÿ Experience in large-scale cell culture or protein purification.
ÿ Cloning and expressing genes in transient systems for rapid functional
analysis.

Compensation:
