We pretty much gave up using SDS CE,because of the low reproducibily. Some
lasted just long enough to get the
standards, others up to 50 runs.I am not doing that type of work, but I would
also be interested in good alternatives.
I am assuming that you were using them for oligonucleotide
characterization.If so,we use gels.

Subject: SDS Capillary Electrophoresis Kits
Greetings,
I've been trying to obtain a a kit to run an SDS method by capillary
electrophoresis. The problem is that these kits seem to be difficult to
come by. Sigma has deleted their product. Biorad is discontinuing their
CE line and the SDS kit is unavailable now. Beckman-Coulter can't supply a
kit for more than a month.
These situations always make me uncomfortable as it seems that it will
become increasingly difficult to get reagents.
Is there anyone out there running a SDS method by CEthat has a reliable
source of reagents?
Thanks,
Dr. Cory Bystrom
