Research Scientist Position
Applications are invited for a tenure-track Research Scientist position at
the Wadsworth Center/David Axelrod Institute (www.wadsworth.org), New York
State Department of Health, Albany, NY. The position will help support the
growing needs at the Wadsworth Center and the Genomics Institute for
genetic studies involving transgenic mice. The incumbent will be
responsible for the application of current transgenic technologies
including micromanipulations and microsurgery. Opportunities to assist in
the evaluation and application of new and evolving technology involved in
transgenics will also be available. The minimum requirements for this
position are a bachelor's degree in biology or related field and 2 years
clinical/research experience or a master's degree in biology or related
field and 1 year clinical/research experience. Preferred applicants will
also have prior tissue culture experience and a familiarity with mouse
husbandry. Microsurgery and micromanipulation experience is also desired.
Salary for the Research Scientist position starts at $38,134 with a job
