We also have a Storm 860 and have maintained the service contract from the
beginning. Our only major repairs in over 5 years have been repair of the
scanner head motor and a repair of the lid. Our service contract, however, is
covered as part of a NCI core facility grant. Having the service contract did
help us receive the last ImageQuant software updates without any hassle.

Hi, all,

We renew our service contract on our Storm phosphorimager every year--and
I was wondering what other labs do. Has anyone really suffered a large
repair bill for their Storm 860 that has made the approx $6000 service
contract a worthwhile yearly investment?
