I'm new to protein purification and am following old protocols from elsewhere. I've been using Centricon Plus-80s for concentration but am concerned about sterility. Millipore says that they don't plan on sterilizing but give an unvalidated protocol for autoclaving. Doesn't anyone else worry about sterility? If not, why not? And I've heard mixed reviews about this product. Your opinion?
