Laurey and Amanda,

Beware, ABI's kits while selling for a significant discount, were reported
earlier this year to contain R2B instead of their new product, R2C. This
was the information I was given out in Foster City in Feb. The R2C is the
same n-methylpiperidine as the R2B except that it is in butanol /
isopropanol instead of methanol. The chromatogram using R2C is supposed to
lack the contaminant peak which co-elutes with dptu allowing uses of dptu
as the reference peak once again. If you are satisfied with the R2B then
the kits may be the way to go but as the R2B/R2C costs are significant
(~$250/ bottle), if you are planning to use R2C, the kits may not be that
great of a bargain. It may be advantageous for people to call up ABI and
inquire / suggest that they switch to R2C in their kits.
