Dear Laurey et al.,
All the valve blocks replacement parts are essentially the same except for
the two or four alignment pins used on the newer valve blocks and some of
the real old valve blocks use a viton seal at the bottom of the plastic
solvent channel, which are not used with the newer design. It may be easier
and cheaper just to order by the kits and discard (or give away) the extra
seal and spring.

As for ABI price increases (on your other post), I thought ABI was wanting
to price themselves out of the protein sequencing business, but a rep. said
not so and chucked. Even when wanting to order, I've had trouble with being
disconnected after long automated holds and no response to email inquiry.
It's to a point that I'm considering mixing my own reagents or pouring them
from one mfg. bottles to the ABI bottles.

Subject: Rebuilt blocks for ABI 477

Hello all,
My 477 needs a new E block, and ABI has them backordered until May.
Biolytic Lab has not returned my calls, and I can't find parts listed
on their website for a 477. Does anyone know of a different supplier
of rebuilt blocks?

Thanks a million!
