I have relocated from Iowa State to UMass Med School in Worcester.
We just purchased two of the ABI GeneAmp PCR System 2700 cyclers. This is
an alternative for those labs needing new cyclers but don't want to pay the
price of the 9700 or the MJ units.
They operate the same as the 9700 but do not have a removable head. Their
footprint is also smaller. Came with few consumables but at a list price of
$4400 it was a good deal. Because we bought two we got them for less than
