The Genesys 2 or 5 from Spectronic Instruments are very reliable, and have several options, such as a memory softcard, and an application softcard (Survey scan, kinetics, and standard curves). The 5 is for 5nm slitwidth, the 2 for 2nm. There is also a Windows based Genesys 2.
I like the 8-position multi-cell, with a blank position, and auto incremention, and I have the optional printer too. Footprint is small: 19" wide, 22" deep, and 8" high. Should be available from any of the big distributers.

We are interested in purchasing a simple/ (small?) UV/VIS
spectrophotometer for quantitating DNA. Actually, the 'elderly' LKB
UltroSpec II, if you are familiar with that one, would be very adequate
(with its' carousel of five or so cuvettes), but I doubt that it is still
available.
If you know of some such spectrophotometer, I would be very grateful for
information.
Thank you,
Millie McAdams
