PepSyn: Rink amide AM resin

Hey folks,

I was reading in the novabiochem catalog about the Rink amide AM resin.
It states that there is a nle 'reference' amino acid situated between the
Rink amide linker and the aminomethyl polystyrene resin. I was wondering,
what exactly is this reference for?
