difficulties on getting signal from ion trap MS

hi,
i am having problem to get ion signal from ion-trap MS for a small aromatic cyclic ester. while it shows UV signal from HPLC, no ionized form seen from MS, i have tried to replace TFA to acetic acid, but almost no improvement. the ester is a neutral molecule( or a weak benzoic acid), is this the problem to get ionized even at acidic pH?
anyone has tip to improve this situation?
