Dear ABRF members and BBS participants,

It is with great sadness that I pass along information about the
recent untimely death of Allan Wolffe of Sangamo Biosciences and
formerly of the National Institutes of Child Health and Human
Development. Allan was a plenary speaker at our most recent ABRF meeting
in San Diego as well as at our 1999 meeting in Durham. He was an
outstanding scientist who contributed significantly to the understanding
of chromatin structure and to our meetings. The ABRF extends its deepest
sympathy to Allan's family. You may learn more from the press release at
the following URL. http://www.sangamo.com/052101wolffe.htm

Sincerely,
Mark
