I've been using fused silica tips from newobjective
for nanospray infusion for some time. i often have troubles getting the flow
from 30um id tips. sometimes, it's leaking from the union that connects the
infusion syringe and the tubing. it seems to be the weakest link in terms of
holding high pressure. usually, i have to try several tips to find one that
could give the flow. for those 100 um taper tips, it's much easier to get the
flow, yet the sensitivity is usually lower than from 30um tips. is there any
setup around the infusion syringe union that can withstand a higher
pressure? how long those 30 um tips can usually last? is clogging the only
reason that they are not usable any more? thanks.
