Subject: Seeking employment
Dear members of ABRF,
I am a graduate student in the laboratory of Dr. Richard A. Laursen at Boston
University and am seeking a position as a protein chemist/bioanalytical
chemist in the biotechnology industry, academia or other research
organization. My Ph.D. thesis research has involved the isolation and
sequence analysis of a new type of antifreeze protein. This work has given
me experience with a variety of protein purification and analytical
techniques--especially HPLC (prep and analytical), sequencing (MilliGen 6600
ProSequencer and MALDI-TOF ladder sequencing), amino acid analysis (PicoTag
and ninhydrin methods) and circular dichroism spectroscopy. In addition I
have done quite a lot of peptide synthesis (MilliGen 9050 synthesizer and
manual methods) and some molecular modeling; I have some familiarity with
recombinant DNA techniques.
If you have or know of an opening, or want more information, please contact me:

I am willing to relocate for a suitable position, but for a postdoctoral
position would prefer to stay in the Boston area. I will be available for
employment in April, 1997; I am a permanent resident of the United States.
Sincerely yours,
(Ms.) Gejing Deng
