During my system manager days in our core lab wrestling with a HP
minicomputer system for data acquisition, I thought that I could deaden the
background noise using foam panels from an outfit in the Midwest. After
sticking the thick panels to the wall with adhesives, I realized that the
only effect was that the sound echoing was eliminated! Background fan
noise, etc. was still there. It looked high tech. Regards, Tom.
