A belated contribution to the lurker debate, as I was off sick when
the discussion took place. I confess to being a lurker, but would like
to say why.I am a technician transferred to a core facility
after many years working in another area; I had to learn about protein
sequencing, peptide synthesis, mass spectrometry and moreover had a
boss who was somewhat uncommunicative, and possibly overwhelmed
as well. I was so encouraged by the helpful response to my
naive questions, in fact this group was a lifeline! I have
continued to follow it, although I do not usually have
anything I can contribute I am learning all the time. If I
stay in the job long enough perhaps I will be able to
contribute more. Anyway thank you Ruth & all the other helpful
people out there.
