Hi happy sequncers,

Re the current discussion on Seq Analysis v3.0. I have used
this for several months and found it pretty good. The abiliity to
expand the gel greatly facilitates mannual tracking and it is much
quicker and prettier. But with regard to auto tracking quite
frankly I have never found this to work on either this version
or the new. The lanes are frequently offset so lane one is lane
-1 or lane zero. If it does correctly identify lane one then it
doesn't follow the "smile". Efforts to overcome these two problems
include getting plates with the scratch mark in the actual middle
of the plate - is yours ? mine was'nt - and I always load pGEM in
the first and final lanes - I find putting loading buffer in
lane 0 and 37 has little effect on smile. Basically I've given
up on auto tracking. and auto analysis.
If anyone has any suggestions where I might be going wrong let
me know. Other than that I like v3.0. Its Factura v2.0 that
makes me froth at the mouth chew the carpet!!

Regards

Marc
