The ABRF Peptide Synthesis Research Committee is conducting a test survey of
peptide synthesis capabilities of ABRF members on the ABRF WWWeb site in
Australia. Although this survey is designed for ABRF members, nonmembers
can also respond. There is a check box indicating membership (or not) and
the membership will be checked by a neutral party. The survey can be
accessed at
http://www.medstv.unimelb.edu.au/97pepsynsurvey.html

The questions and answers were set up to provide an automatic email response
that can be directly copied and pasted into a database for analysis. All
identifying markers will be removed prior to analysis, so that the identity
of the participants will remain anonymous.

ABRF Peptide Synthesis Survey

Since its conception in 1991, the Peptide Synthesis Committee of the
Association of Biomedical Resource Facilities (ABRF) has designed annual
studies to aid or assist its members with various aspects of peptide
synthesis. Assesment and improvement of the quality of peptides produced by
member facilities has always been a primary goal of the committee. This
committee has also introduced new techniques and chemistries to ABRF
members. At this time, the committee is requesting that all members of the
ABRF who perform peptide synthesis, fill in and return the survey below.
This is the first of hopefully annual surveys on which to base future trends
and changes in peptide synthesis and analysis. The results will be
distributed to all participants. Thank you for your participation.

We have no plans to keep your identity and the data you provide together but
we would appreciate your name and email address to get back to you if we
require clarification of any of your responses. Lyn Broccoli, who handled
the data sheets and codings for the 1996 peptide synthesis study, will also
handle the data from this survey and enter only the coded data into a database.

Thank you for your participation.
