Subject: HPLC resins for labile proteins

What has been the experience of investigators with HPLC type
resins and columns for labile proteins for micro-scale purifications?
I have not found equivalents for e some of the Pharmacia ion
exchangers that are available for very small scale as the Smart
System. I have some ABI brownlee 2.1mm x 3cm anion and cation
"polypore" columns which use non-silica supports. Does anyone know
how these columns perform with labile proteins in terms of
acitivity recovery? I do not think silica based columns allow
recovery of activity of labile growth factors.
