Dear Haydn,

An excellent method for avoiding aspartimide formation is to protect
the preceeding amino acid (in this case Gly) with the Hmb backbone
protecting group. You can purchase the Fmoc protected Hmb-Gly-OH from
Novabiochem. A useful reference is Quibell etal, J.Chem.Soc., Chem.
Commun., 1994, 2343.

Kind Regards, Nick Ede
