for those interested in attending the 23rd Annual Lorne Conference on
Protein Structure and Function (a Joint Meeting with the Protein Society)
in February 1998, you should refer to the conference home page on:
http://grimwade.biochem.unimelb.edu.au/lorne.htm
For those who have never heard of the Lorne conference, it is an excellent
meeting, the important features being the location (a small coastal
township) and the time of year (late summer here in Australia), just have a
look at the picture on the Web site!
To quote the promotional material, "Sessions are organised for the morning
and evening of each day leaving the afternoons largely free for recreation
and informal discussion. The program consists of oral and poster sessions,
informal workshops around specific themes and company-sponsored workshops.
Oral sessions encompass themes of particular importance to protein science
and are arranged around one or more keynote speakers; a limited number of
submitted communications relevant to the major themes may be included.
Communications on any aspect of protein structure and function are
encouraged. "
If you are genuinely interested in attending, I would recommend making
early arrangements as conference registration and accomodation places can
be hard to arrange at the last minute.
I would also like to draw ABRFers attention to the Workshop on PROTEIN
STRUCTURE ANALYSIS which is to be held the day before the main meeting,
details of which are also available from the Web site.
Hope to see some of you there.
Regards...Ken
