Responsibilities will include working with an international team on establishing
a large scale GMP process of an injectible recombinant therapeutic, which is
scheduled to go into clinical trials in the very near future; identify appropriate
process parameters at the lab bench; scale the process up to large scale
production.
A Ph.D. in a biomedical or an engineering discipline with 2 years of
postdoctoral experience in protein purification or the equivalent is required.
Familiarity with unit operations typical for industrial protein purificaiton, such
as cell homogenization, extract clarification, ion exchange chromatography,
polishing, and formulation is necessary. Ability to handle process analyses such
as PAGE, Westerns, ELISA, or UV spectroscopy is also required. Experience with
purification of proteins from yeast or with GMP production methods a plus.
