Concerning the recommendations for using the money to purchase an HPLC. I
would suggest that you look at the type of HPLC used by labs in Materials and
Methods sections of publications and posters at the ABRF and Protein Society
meetings. I believe that you would find that the majority of the labs use the
HP1090. I am biased because we have had one for over five years and expect
that it will be around for at least another five (we also expect that the
vendor will still be in business and servicing the machine five years from
now). I do not own stock in the company, nor do I get a kickback for
recommending their equipment.
