Concerning spills of DIC - diisopropylcarbodiimide. Dr. Benoiton suggested
adding acetic acid to neutralize the DIC. Another alternative would be
citric acid, the advantage being that this is a non-volatile acid, thereby
reducing the amount of chemicals in the air. Both would good for
neutralization of piperidine
