An article entitled "Deamidation of Asparaginyl Residues as a Hazard in
Experimental Protein and Peptide Procedures" that appeared in Analytical
Biochemistry, 42, 565 (1971), may be of help. The authors found that
deamidation of Asn occurs rather rapidly at pH 10, particularly in
phosphate buffer.
