Dear Mark and others,

A Procise 494 was installed in my lab in April 1996. About two months a=
go
3 valve blocks failed (3,4 and 8 valves) and had to be replaced. Also in
this system reagents and solvents were sucked back to the wacuum-assist
system, but the "pump" was not damaged.

The old 477A was, compared with this, a very reliable instrument, during
the 10 years it was running there was never any problems with the valve
blocks.
