Hi David!
Have a look at
1.Hayashi,K. A rapid determination of SDS with methylene blue, Anal.Biochem.67,503-506 (1975)
and
2. Sokoloff & Frigon, Rapid spectrophotometric assay of SDS using acridine orange, Anal.Biochem.116, 138-141 (1981).
The lower limit appears to be ca 1microgr.
