We are in the initial stages of purchasing a DNA sequencer. ABI 377 Prism and
Li-Cor 4200L one/two-dye system are both being investigated. We currently
operate a Li-Cor instrument and are quite pleased with it. We have also
obtained the published specifications etc. from both companies and understand
the basic differences between the two units: one lane vs. four lanes, labeled
primers vs. labeled terminators, etc. We would like to get some input from
actual hands-on users concerning both models. How well do they operate on a
daily basis in the lab? Our question to you is: What are the pros/cons in favor
of one or the other.
Any info on the Genesys horizontal gel sequencing system would also be
appreciated.
