position, are to provide primary support for the peptide synthesis
product line (hardware/software/peer training/basic applications); including
430A, 431/3A, and the 432 ("Synergy").

Job Description:

Technical Support Specialist I/II/Sr. #7595

Technical Support

Responsible for providing a readily accessible source of technical and
application support for North American customers of ABD DNA Synthesis,
Peptide Synthesis, and Protein Sequencing products and services. Provides
customer feedback to the product groups to maintain and improve product
quality. Requires knowledge and skills normally acquired through completion
of a Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A..) in Life Science, Chemistry,
or related fields, or equivalent related experience gained by using,
servicing or providing technical support for related high technology
instrumentation. Requires knowledge of principles of Biology, Chemistry
and Physics or Electronics equivalent to basic college-level courses in
these areas.
Familiarity with Applied Biosystems DNA/Peptide Synthesis and Protein
Sequencing a real plus for all levels.

Tech Support I
1 year hands-on experience with ABD or related biotechnology products
(e.g. laboratory usage, field or in-house service, product testing)
preferred. Specific experience or training in an area related to
customer relations, technical training and technical support is
preferred.

Tech Support II
2-4 years hands-on experience in a technical support related field,
including 1
year hands-on experience with Applied Biosystems or related
biotechnology products, e.g. laboratory usage, field or in-house
service, product testing, or equivalent combination of education and
experience. Specific experience or
training in an area related to customer relations, technical training
and technical support is preferred.

Tech Support Sr.
Four to six (4-6) years hands-on experience in a technical support
related field, including two (2) years hands-on experience with Applied
Biosystems or related biotechnology products, e.g. laboratory usage,
field or in-house service, product testing, or equivalent combination of
education and experience. Specific experience or training in an area
related to customer relations, technical training and technical support
is preferred.
