Cleaning MALDI targets

Please find the following response for Ulf Hellman.

Ulf:

We have a Reflex for which the following target cleaning strategy has
proven reliable:

1) Wipe vigorously with a deionised water saturated Kimwipe.
2) Repeat 1.
3) Perform 1 and 2 using highest quality absolute ethanol.
4) Perform 1 and 2 with highest quality isoproanol.

We fold the Kimwipes into 2cm x 2cm pads for the purpose of wiping. The
procedure has worked well with peptides and proteins and most matrices but
thin-layer alpha cyano can be a bit more difficult to dislodge.
