Whew! I see that I kind of got something going...I very much appreciate the
opinions expressed, they renew my wobbling faith in Edman sequencing (our
machine has been down for several months now for reasons I would rather not go
into at this time and I am getting a bit testy!). I was particularly struck
with Gary's observation that one needs to use Edman, ESI-MS AND MALDI-TOF when
analyzing peptide maps... I thought by polling the ABRF I might find that we
could save some time and effort by doing without one technique and here I
discover we need to add another!! Thanks to all, its sure nice to have a
support group when you need one!
