you may also use the GammaBind G Sepharose; this recombinant protein G
binds only to IgG (all subclasses), but not to IgM, IgE, IgA and IgD
according to the supplier (Pharmacia).
Maybe this is a much cheaper alternative than affinity purification with
anti-IgG antibodies.

I have been asked how one would purify IgG from IgM from IgA in a mixture. IgG and IgM are pretty straight-forward due to the obvious mass difference and properties on ion-exchange. However, IgA throws me for a loop as nobody I know really deals with it. Any ideas ?
