In-gel digest and 2D gel storage

I really enjoy the discussion in-gel and/or on-membrane digest. In
relation to this I want to ask for a procedure to analyse by in-gel
digestion (e.g. by trypsin) of 2D gels, which have been stored dry on
plastic backing/support (Pharmacia ready made gels). About a year ago
experiences with 2D gels dried between two sheets of cellophane in
relation to in-gel digest were discussed here. However, I can not
remember a procedure for re-swelling the gels.

With the ready-made gels you have not a protective layer on both sides
of the gel. By the way what is the best method of storage 2D gels on
plastic support that one might to keep for an extended period of time
for in-gel digestion?

Thanks for your experience,

Susanne
