I have a job opening in my laboratory for a research assistant to do 2D
electrophoresis and low-level protein characterization in a
biotechnology research environment. Details are given below, and I
would like to fill this position as soon as possible.
Category: Lab/Research Assistant/Research Associate
Department: Mass Spec Lab
Position: Research Assistant/Research Associate
Requisition #: 98-0000231
Available as of: Thursday, February 26, 1998
Hiring Manager: David Arnott
HR contact Lisa O'Neill Phone: (650) 225-4340
Description
An active research program involves the separation and analysis of
proteins that display changes in expression level or modification which
correlate with disease state, development stage, or drug treatment. A
research assistant is needed to perform all aspects of the separation
and analysis. These include two-dimensional gel electrophoresis, gel
staining and image analysis, protein digestions, peptide analysis by
mass spectrometry, and computer-based data analysis.
Requirements
The candidate will have a BS or MS degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or
related field with 3-5 years experience. Experience in electrophoresis,
preferably 2-D electrophoresis, and picomole-level protein analysis is
essential. Experience with mass spectrometry is helpful. Excellent
writing, speaking, and computer skills are expected.
Resumes can be sent to Lisa O'Neill in human resources, or directly to
me. E-mail is fine, but no attachments please.
