we have been working with the AAA for some years and we realized quite soon
that it was better to use a manual hydrolysis rather than the automatic
one, because of very bad reproducibility of the results.
The ABI technical assistance could not resolve the problem, we think the
hydrolysis head was not designed to give good performance, probably also
because aluminium was the material used for the external structures and
therefore not compatible with HCl use.
We have been using the manual gas-phase hydrolysis for years and we
normally reach a good recovery from the HTP samples (usually with a CV%
between 2 and 6).
Let me know if you are interested in procedure details and I will be very
glad to help you.
Ciao
