Frank, Ron and Henriette,
I apologize for the confusion - that's what happens when you dash someting
off before rushing out the door!
I left out a 5. the correct mix is TFA-Phenol(solid)-Water-Thioanisole-TIPS
(82.5:5:5:5:2.5). (The 0.5 of the TFA must have thrown me when I quickly
counted out four "5's").
And we use this on the Rainin with only the suggested green vent attatched
for the nitrogen sweep. The researchers and technicians in California are
quite vocal when their noses are offended, and while we've gotten visits from
Health and Safety when doing manual cleavages off the 430 with Thioanisole &
Ethanedithiol, the TIPS mixture draws little complaint.
