If it only has gly, thr and ala, it will be a difficult peptide to analyze
by mass spectrometry. No matter what you do, it will probably only pick up
one charge, so you need an instrument that will reach up to 2400. Make
sure that it is properly calibrated at that mass range.
If charging with more formic doesn't work, you might be able to get it to
pick up a sodium ion by adding 0.5 mM Na acetate to the buffer. Other
metals might be tried, such as calcium (I assume it has several
threonines). This might also work with MALDI.
