Just an update on the Operations and Technical Capabilities Survey. Here
are some of the high points. So far only 53 laboratories (out of a possible
288) have
responded to the survey. Of these, 38 offer protein sequencing but only 26
offer protein fragmentation analysis. 22 labs offer peptide synthesis and 21
offer amino acid analysis. Mass spectrometry is represented with 15 labs
offering protein identification by ESI and 5 by MALDI. 26 of the
laboratories offer GLP/GMP services. The average staff per facility is 4.16.
